Overview
MCL’s activities also range from earthwork, leveling and grading, bulk material handling and transportation to construction of high-rise buildings, deep foundations, civil works, power house buildings and coal handling plants. The group has its own fleet of dumpers, tippers and heavy earth moving and construction equipments.
Currently ICM and Marshall are one of the Largest Fly Ash handling enterprise in India. We have got long term Agreements for quota allotments from Power Generating Stations. Marshall and ICM has the privilege of being the pioneer in encouraging and introducing utilization of Fly Ash to different users in a measured quantity, providing a solution to the Power Generating Authorities for disposal of their solid waste. Marshall and ICM has effectively contributed in a major way towards implementing guidelines of Ministry of Environment & Forest for maximum utilization of Fly Ash from Thermal Power Plants.

Industrial Technology is essential for transporting fly ash. The material is a finely grained powder that is very light in nature and causes pollution if thrown in the air. Hence, we have to store the fly ash in tankers and silos to transport and store the material. To move the ash from one container to the other we use pneumatic compressed air to load the inland barges with pipelines, hoses and necessary exhaust systems for a pollution free experience. Similarly, at the receiving end cement manufacturing use pneumatic suction systems for fly ash unloading. Their suction unloaders are equipped with the required vacuum capacity to minimize dust.
This is an efficient system that ensures maximum volume and is a model for an end to end movement. Recently, we have invested in centrifugal air classifiers from the USA.

In addition to this we have a cyclone separator for further separation and collection of a finer grade of fly ash that is useful in grouting compounds and other special applications for strength.
Ecological
Increasing concern of ground water contamination and fly ash seepage into the ground is ensuring safety and the necessary steps are being taken to prevent it. Fly Ash being a pollutant in air and ground water, we are being encouraged for maximum utilization. Thousands of acres of land are wasted for ash ponds dedicated for the disposal of fly ash in slurry form, which is harmful and not the preferred mode for ash disposal. Hence, necessary environment permissions and Government regulation is necessary to successfully operate thermal power plants.
Coal linkages are necessary with the Government and a blend of imported and domestic sources ensures uninterrupted power production. Responsible disposal of fly ash is a necessary ingredient for obtaining clearance from the authorities.
Hence, we are serving the power plants with recycling their fly ash in the construction industry.

Communication
Communication is of the utmost essence. We have established communication lines with thermal power plants and other reputed organizations. This is the first step towards implementation and execution. Our strategy and objectives are being communicated to all interested parties and we are striving to persist with this.
Alignment
Our organization is over four decades old. Our people and culture motivate the organization. We have loyal and trusted employees that have dedicated their entire careers to our organization. However, the culture for work in our organization is such that the work progress has to be continuously monitored and supervised by executive management of the company. We have to continuously engage with the senior management at various sites to resolve issues and suggest remedies.
Culture and Incentives
We have always had a culture of results and performance for the company. The company’s best interests have priority over most things. An effective execution strategy is driven from the bottom. We have a tolerant and caring attitude towards our production workers but encourage a rewards-based / performance-oriented compensation policy. There are certain exceptions forced upon us by workers unions and political pressure however, in general we follow a stringent incentive-based model. Amongst the drivers of our fleet of vehicles, we have a salary structure based on trip incentives, this is the most constructive way to maximize our production. Even at the managerial and junior managerial level, we promote and reward people based on their performance, dedication and passion for their duties.
Often to resolve critical issues within the company and to accomplish our objectives, executive and senior management must work together to identify and follow up on opportunities. We believe in taking action when appropriate and that is the way company handles risks and other threats. Our talent pool is carefully nurtured and trained to add value to the company. Our culture of trust and faith is somewhat misguided and is being replaced with close monitoring and establishing reports and procedures for audit and control measures.

We are focused and strive to make a difference. Our focus on innovation and execution of commitments is the key to our success.
Structure
We follow a hierarchy in our group and an incentive-based program. With persistence, dedication and effective strategy we aim to be the largest exporters of processed and composite fly ash to neighboring countries. We will continue to work with people and resources to implement our strategy and vision. Along the way, expanding our network, forming new relationships and building trust is essential for us.
Our vision will take many years to implement successfully but we have to deliver a consistent message for our people and communicate to make it happen. Our companies have endured the last four decades and with sound leadership, we will survive the next few.
Our History
Marshall was founded on 28th July, 1971. The group has completed various types of projects involving high-rise buildings, roads, embankments, railway siding, material handling inclusive of transportation and industrial projects in the power and steel industry. The group has accomplished and possesses sufficient resources and technical expertise to complete construction projects of a high magnitude in India and abroad.

The group’s "Chairman & Managing Director", Mr. Birpal Singh Chauhan is presently managing magnificently the Company's business. Under his leadership since then, the Group has executed a lot of long-term prestigious projects successfully and out of these, presently the ongoing projects are also being executed.
His vision is to build the group into a strong motivated organization and to maximize performance of every individual in the organization with a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities and commitments.
